[edit] Background
1st Lieutenant Jake "Nomad" Dunn is the protagonist of Crysis and is controlled by the player throughout the entire game. Part of Raptor Team, he is a member of the U.S. Delta Forces and, as such, wears a state-of-the-art, million dollar Nanosuit. He works throughout the game with his squadmates; primarily Laurence "Prophet" Barnes", his squad leader, and Michael "Psycho" Sykes. Nomad is described in the game guide as an athletic and muscular man in his early 20s. He is Caucasian American, and Prophet appears to be a role model to him.
Nomad was always a very good soldier in the Raptor Team division. This is proven because at the beginning of training, O'Neill from Crysis Warhead was meant to take his place in Raptor Team, but an incident involving not respond correctly to a Code Blue allowed Nomad to take his place. It is often listened to when his dialogue is spoken in the series that he tends to take things fairly seriously when it comes to completing his assigned missions.
[edit] During Crysis
In Crysis, Raptor Team is sent to one of the Lingshan islands in the Phillipines under the control of North Korean soldiers — the Korean People's Army after a distress call is received from civilian archeologists on the island.
[edit] During Crysis Warhead
The only mentions of Nomad in Crysis Warhead are in the data tapes which reveal the background between O'Neill and Psycho and in the dialogue between the characters.
[edit] Trivia
- A file in the editor contains incomplete files for a character named Aurora Dunn, who, if existed in game, would possibly be Nomad's sister or wife.
