- Crysis is a very open game which supports nearly every kind of modding, from creating a simple one-shot kill weapon to adding new and complete vehicles and changing game major database.

Crytek selected two modification teams to work with a Crysis SDK before the game's release. These mod teams are receiving Crytek support during development and the mods are set to be released shortly after Crysis is released.
[edit] Crysis Warhead
For Crysis Warhead, Crytek released a newer version of the SDK for Crysis Wars. However, the new SDK must be downloaded as it comes with Crysis Wars patch 1.4 (unsure), and there are several things unfixed in Crysis Wars. A fixing mod can be found in Crymod.
