[edit] Specifics

The Hurricane is a devastating weapon that can kill both light infantry and Nanosoldiers in seconds. The weapon has a massive 500 round clip making reloading a lesser worry (though it is still advised to keep you eye on your ammo). It has a blazing rate of fire that can pound the opposition with a hail of lead. It is arguably the most powerful non-explosive portable infantry weapon at disposal. Because of its weight, only one wearing a Nanosuit can weild it, even then the user is slowed down when carrying this weapon (the exception is during strength and speed mode). It is easier to maneuver with strength mode and speed mode is advised when on the move with this weapon.

[edit] Advantages

It has the most rounds per reload and boasts incredibly fast firing speed. It is tremendously powerful and can rip through most enemies quickly, even Alien Scouts. It also has plenty of ammo (1000 total), although, you can still burn through it surprisingly fast.

[edit] Disadvantages

  • The minigun slows the user down, making the user an easier target. Only one extra magazine can be carried (although one can argue that the amount of ammo per magazine compensates for it).
  • When using speed mode to increase maneuverability, the enemy can exploit this to their advantage since the user will not be protected by armor mode. The minigun must also take about a second to spin up before it can fire. Ammo is rare, and is sometimes found in ammo caches and wielded by some KPA soldiers wearing nanosuits.
  • The Hurricane minigun has low accuracy, making small targets and faraway targets hard to kill, and wasting more ammo. As it can only fire in hip, to aim would be nearly impossible in hard difficulty because cross hair is not available. The attachment of laser pointer help little because the laser point is hard to see in combat situations. While it is devastating in close range, SMG or AY69s maybe more effective because they allow one to aim, not to mention larger ammunition supply and no penalty on maneuverability.

[edit] Trivia

  • The Hurricane's visual design is inspired by the American M134 Chaingun.

[edit] Notes

  • Hurricane's barrel disappears when the player toggles third person mode then comes back to first person mode. It can be fixed by reselect the weapon or start rotating the barrel by firing.
