[edit] Specifics

The FY17 is chambered in 5.45x39mm and can carry 31 rounds (30 in the magazine and 1 in the chamber) per reload. 330 is the maximum ammount of ammo that can be carried for this weapon (not including incendiary rounds). It has fully automatic, semi-automatic, and under-barrel attachment firing modes. This weapon is effective in medium range and has medium rate of fire and is an overall good weapon for standard engagements.

[edit] Advantages

FY71 is one of the most abundant weapons in the series. Almost all KPA soldiers carry an FY71 (especially in the beginning of the games) so it is almost impossible to run out of ammo. The FY71 is also the single most customizable weapon available. It can be equipped with all attachments for the rifle, including the flashlight, silencer, laser aiming module, tactical attachment, incendiary ammo, under barrel grenade launcher, reflex sight, assault scope, and sniper scope. It has medium range and medium rate of fire, so it can be used as a bread-and-butter for your arsenal.

[edit] Incendiary Rounds

Incendiary Rounds are a powerful upgrade to the normal rounds of FY71. Each bullet results in a small explosion, damaging more than the normal round.

[edit] Disadvantages

Compared to its SCAR, the FY71 quite inferior and the user must use its rate of fire. It has 30 rounds per magazine compared to 40 rounds per magazine of SCAR, does less damage, has less accuracy, it is louder (does not affect gameplay, but wider area can cause more enemies on a distance to become alert), and it lacks the SCAR's camo pattern (only found in Warhead, does not affect gameplay).

  • FY71 model is based on AK-101.
  • Like in most modern shooter games, the AK similar weapon is assosiated with the "Bad Guys".
