AN-M8 HC Smoke Grenade

The AN-M8 HC Smoke Grenade is a weapon in both Crysis games. Only the KPA uses this weapon. However, no enemies actaully use it; the only proof that the KPA has it in their inventories is that it can be found in areas occupied by them.

The Smoke Grenade is primarily used to mask your movements. This is very effective against enemies using Machine Guns, as they will stop firing it if a Smoke Grenade explodes right in front of them. This will give you plenty of time to reposition yourself without the fear of being attacked.
This can also be applied to regular troops. If a group of enemies are locked onto you, throw a Smoke Grenade near them. This will confuse them just enough for you to get away. In addition, the smoke grenade prevents enemies from seeing you reposition, which gives you a great chance to surprise them.

- The in-game Smoke Grenade uses a recoloured version of the Flashbang's model. In real life, the AN-M8 looks completely different.
